There's a little reference to The Golden Compass on Jonas's book, because it's been a huge influence in my work and I thought it would be fun to put a lil easter egg in c:

JONAS: Ah, yeah. I'm glad to be out of the intensive care ward finally.
JONAS: Most boring week ever.

JONAS: Mum's real happy, obviously. Didn't have to make the choice.
TAMBERLANE: Choice?

JONAS: Whether or not to send me to Abroad?
TAMBERLANE: ABROAD?!

[SFX: KOFF Koff Koff]

TAMBERLANE : Je suis heureuse que tu sois là maintenant. Avant, j'étais seule.
JONAS : Ah, ouais. Je suis heureux de sortir enfin du service de soins intensifs.
JONAS : La semaine la plus ennuyeuse de tous les temps.

JONAS : Maman est très heureuse, évidemment. Elle n’a pas eu à faire le choix.
